There's nothing quite like nutrition and diet to stir up a bit of controversy.
Is there another subject that causes quite such a strong argumentative reaction in people?
"PALEO IS BEST BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT CAVEMEN ATE!"
"NO.... VEGAN IS BEST BECAUSE ANIMALS!"
"NO CARBS AFTER 6 FOR ME, YOU CAN EAT ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT. BUT NOT CARBS. NEVER CARBS OR YOU'LL BE FAT!"
"5:2 HAS CHANGED MY LIFE AND YOU'RE ALL WRONG AND I'M RIGHT AND I'M THE BEST!!!"
With so much conflicting and confusing information out there it's difficult to know what's 'right'.
And that's the problem.
Because - in a way - everyone is right
The reality is that everyone has their own individual needs and individual preferences so what suits one person will not necessarily suit another.
It doesn't matter if you're looking to lose weight, gain weight, you're an endurance athlete or you're looking to stack muscle on your diet must:
a) fulfil your requirements.
b) be enjoyable enough for you to adhere too.
Once you hit that sweet spot, whatever you want to label the diet, it will work 100% of the time.
