Last night was the start of a group personal training session that I'm holding on a regular basis for a group of individuals who want that "something extra" from their workout.
Everyone has their own reasons to want to work out and group sessions can give you a little bit more, namely motivation, group camaraderie, accountability and fun!
These sessions are designed to push the group to their maximum limits whilst ensuring each group member is seen as an individual with their own needs.
As this was our first session together I pieced together a session that was high intensity, but a solid all-round workout. Circuits included upper-body and lower-body bodyweight strength work, some core activity and of course an all round cardio blast.
Our last effort was an introduction to bear walks and duck walks that we'll develop in the coming weeks. These are fun little exercises that literally bring everyone down to the same level! This approach has given me a good indication as to where the fitness levels of each group member is and I can now go away and develop a programme that will suit everyone for the coming weeks.
Personal Training 1-1 is great but a group session is a superb way of pushing yourself that little bit further, both in terms of activity effort but in the motivation to keep going.

Thanks to my group for allowing me to use these pictures!
